Returning along the small corridor and turning right, you come to the entrance hall of the house and the staircase leading to the upper floors, currently closed to the public. On the back wall there is a large, 17th century Sienese school painting depicting two beggars (or brigands) being attacked by dogs and in the background two famous buildings of Siena: the church of San Domenico and the fountain of Fontebranda. The entrance hall is used for small temporary exhibits; alternatively the display cases contain liturgical furnishings belonging to the top floor of the house.
